Conference championship weekend is here. We get to have it open up with the blue turf. Doesn't get much better than that. The Broncos have ran through all competition not named Oregon. There have been some close calls for the 11-1 Group of 5 team, but they have impressive wins hosting Washington State and Oregon State and impressive wins holding down UNLV at UNLV and going down 21-7 to San Jose State and eventually coming back to smash them 42-21 in their own stadium.

UNLV is a good football team. Their two losses are to Boise State and and Syracuse, who are 11-1 and 9-3 respectively. They overcame adversity of their starting quarterback leaving the team to still have a great year. Their biggest issue heading into the rematch is that this game is on the blue turf. Kick off is going to be below freezing. All of a sudden, that great rush defense is going to hate having to tackle Ashton Jeanty even more than they already do when they had the opportunity to bottle him up in their dome. Boise will likely have a much better rushing attack against UNLV and that will make a susceptible Rebels pass defense even more susceptible.

All in all, I think the Broncos end up winning and punching their ticket to the College Football Playoff, making them my best bet for the evening.
