I believe in James Franklin in September and Penn State's NFL talent. I also don't believe in Illinois this season. Illinois failed to cover against Toledo and got their teeth kicked in by Kansas. Now they face a team with National Championship Aspirations in Penn State.
The Biggest reason for this best bet is I think Penn State's skill position players are just demonstrably better than anything the Illini have at their disposal. I think that Devon Witherspoon, Jartavius Martin, and Sydney Brown playing on Sundays instead of Saturdays has left their secondary in disarray and life's going to be hard for them in match-ups where they don't have the size advantage in the trenches. I expect Dante Cephus to run wild and Drew Aller to continue being stellar.
