Minnesota Vikings(-1.5) @ Chicago Bears

DK -108

FD -105

NFL Best Bet Season Record: 5-10-0

Until proven otherwise, the Bears are the Bears. Ben Johnson does bring with him a pedigree that is unmatched when it comes to offensive acumen, but he also had the benefit of using the Lions' personnel. An offensive line featuring Drew Dalman, Braxton Jones, and Darnell Right is not the same as an offensive line featuring Frank Ragnow, Taylor Decker, and Penei Sewell. Swift+Johnson are not Gibbs+Montgomery. DJ Moore, Rome Odunze, and Colston Loveland are not Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, and Sam LaPorta. Sure enough, Caleb Williams is not Jared Goff.

The citation of Ben Johnson vs Brian Flores does mean something, to a point. Detroit had the line, skill players, and QB to properly attack a Flores defense through play-action passing. There is no reason to just assume the Bears can do the same because the roster is so much worse than Detroit's.

Meanwhile Minnesota added more fangs to their defensive maw by signing Javon Hargrave and Jonathan Allen. Blake Cashman, Ivan Pace Jr., Jonathan Greenard, and Andrew Van Ginkel are an elite linebacking corps as well. The Secondary is serviceable, but Flores is amazing at maximizing the coverage despite lack of blue chip talent.

JJ McCarthy will likely have training wheels on but that's fine, KOC is one of the best at helping QBs and the Bears' defense has quite a bit to prove. Overall, the Vikings look like the Monday Night Best Bet.
