Like I mentioned yesterday, the Cubs are just out of arms. For reference, their injured list features the following players; Edward Cabrera, Matthew Boyd, Riley Martin, Porter Hodge, Cade Horton, Hunter Harvey, Justin Steele, and Shelby Miller.

By my count that's 8 pitchers, 4 starts and 4 relivers. Teams simply cannot win games with that much attrition in the pitching staff. They especially can't win when their offense has also been atrocious. Michel Busch has racked up .5 WAR in their 10 game losing streak but no one else in contributing. They just are a team completely out of sync and there is no reason to call the end of the tailspin. If anything, it would have been yesterday with the Ben Brown start as he is a very good pitcher and their only healthy one.

The Pirates are a good team that needs to get of their own division. They've already played 20 divisional games and are 12-8 in those games, but they really just need to go on a run. They have the 7th best run differential per game at 0.4 with a -1 luck facto. They just need to feast on teams like the Cubs and put some series and games together.

All in all, the Pirates are set to breakout one of these weeks and the Cubs are free-falling. The Buccos are the game of the day.
