MLB Game of the Day Season Record: 24-28-0
Tonight we have a visiting team that can really hit(6th), but can't pitch(28th) taking a trip to a pitcher's park where the hosts can hit quite a bit(10th) and can really pitch(10th). In matchups like these, I really like a team like the Padres that has really strong arms, especially in the bullpen. The Cardinals have been very impressive. They were projected to do much in the 2026 campaign but have been very strong. Jordan Walker is making an MVP case in his breakout season and JJ Wetherholt, Ivan Herrera, Masyn Winn, and Alec Burleson are playing great roles in support.
Issue is the Padres have good starting pitching and outstanding relief pitching. All Michael King has to do is get to the 6th and a combination of Matt Waldron, Adrian Morejon, Bradgley Rodriguez will get to the 9th and Mason Miller will slam the door shut. With the Cardinals being shaky across the board when it comes to pitching, I think the Padres can get a comfortable win, making them my pick in my game of the day.
