New York Yankees @ Texas Rangers(ML)

DK +134

FD +136

MLB Best Bet Season Record: 22-19-0

As much as I revel in the Yankees losing, this bet is less about them and more about Jacob deGrom forcing himself into the Cy Young conversation and looking like himself. The fastball velocity is up. The breaking pitches are breaking again. The changeup is as good as it's ever been. The inning length isn't quite what it used to be but in 25.1 IP over 5 starts you'll take a 2.13 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 98.1% LOB RATE.

Cam Schlittler has been great, but he's also had the benefit of facing down the Red Sox and Royals to fluff his numbers up, and I think a veteran team can get to him, as seen by the Rays chasing him by the 5th inning. The Rangers started off slow as a collective but they are now warming up as a collective. Josh Jung has been slashing .375/436/.813 over the past two weeks to lead the charge while Wyatt Langford, Joc Pederson, Ezequiel Duran, and Josh Smith have been in lockstep with him all with wRC+s over 100. Corey Seager and Brandon Nimmo even on cold streaks will provide professional at bats, and their top prospect Alejandro Osuna has been a real spark in 4 games and that has helped the cause.

While I begrudgingly admit that the Yankees look to be great once again in 2026, I think that Jacb deGrom backed up by a surging offense is too good a bet to not take. Love the Rangers for the best bet.
