The Tigers are awesome. They can win in every which way. The arms and bats are live and if one is slumping the other can pick the team up. Casey Mize has been awesome in 2025. He's taken the bump for 5 starts to the tune of 29.2 IP, 23 punch outs, 2.12 ERA and a 1.04 WHIP. Mize is a throwback starting pitcher as well. He has a legitimate 5 pitch mix which includes a sinker for RHB and a 4SEAM for LHB. The Splitter is wicked and the Slurve has amazing metrics that will show out over time. He's just a stud n the mound.
The Angels can't hit the Splitter. Only 2% of their hits come off the split fingered fastball which ranks 29th in the MLB. Can't think of a worse matchup than a starter who can go 7 that twirls the split at a .194/.306 37.5% Whiff Rate. Tigers for the best bet tonight.
