MLB Best Bet Season Record: 21-26

Yes, the Padres offense has been great this season and they just added Luis Arraez to a team getting contributions up and down the lineup. I don't care. Imanaga has come over to the states and been the most dominant pitcher in the world. He's also been doing it as a two pitch pitcher. The 4SEAM is a good pitch, with batters slashing .137/.233 against it. He keeps it up in the zone and displays exceptional command with it, making him able to hammer the zone with a solid pitch. His crown jewel is a splitter from hell. batters are slashing .186/.209, only allowing 8 hits in 44 plate appearances when it's been featured, only one being a double. The pitch drops out of the bottom and generates a 43.4% whiff rate. The NPB imports are bringing over devastating splitters that the MLB has to adjust to, and coming out of a left hand is just another layer to adjust to. Jurickson Profar and the Crone Zone have been outstanding, but I just don't think the Padres are consistent enough to make a guy with a 0.78 ERA, 2.22 FIP, and 0.75 WHIP sweat, which is why it's today's best bet. Also just look at the baseball savant.
It's beautiful.
