Since June 1st, only the Detroit Tigers have accrued more fWAR than the Toronto Blue Jays. They're 5th in wRC+ at 112, .268/.334/.422 slash line, and have a staggering 10.6 defense rating which is a full 6.2 points higher than the 2nd best St. Louis Cardinals.
Their bats and defense have really helped their 23rd ranked pitching staff over this same period of time. Jose Berrios, Eric Lauer, and Chris Bassitt have been solid, but in the long run they'll need contributions from Kevin Gausman and Max Scherzer, but for now they are doing just fine after posting a 16-10 June and a 4-0 July so far.
Love them against the Angels and specifically against Jack Kochanowicz.
He's just been an innings eater but even then he hasn't been great at eating said innings. He's posted 86 IP over 17 starts which just has not been worth the squeeze in 2025.
Give me the Blue Jays for the best bet.
