Now, I know what you're thinking, why bother even reading more about this Best Bet?? It's a great team against a bad team getting almost even odds to cover. It's so straightforward. The only reason you should be reading it is that Grayson Rodriguez is becoming an Ace before our very eyes.
When he was initially called up to eat innings, it was rugged for the top pitching prospect. Giving up 37 ER in 45.1 IP. Since he was sent back down and called back up in July, he's been as advertised, giving up only 15 ER in 47.2 IP since the All-Star break. His season long stats still look scary since his May was just that bad, but Rodriguez has turned the corner and Baltimore's main flaw of a lack of a true frontline Ace is going away sooner than expected. Also he looks great under the hood and should only be getting better in things like Whiff% and BB%.
The Angels are also just sad, so take a team trying to lock up the division and overall #1 seed in the American League against the sad team that waived half of their roster.
