The White Sox are just sad. They make me sad. But they can also make me money by losing games to better teams. Nick Lodolo is a promising young pitcher making his season debut and the lineup is buzzing even without Matt McLain. Garrett Crochet and friends are not particularly inspiring and I think the Reds use them as a spring board.
Minnesota Twins @ Detroit Tigers(-1.5)

The Tigers are still figuring out this whole offense thing, but that should be coming along as Spencer Torkleson gets better as the year goes on. The good news for them is that Riley Greene, Gio Urshela, and Mark Canha are picking up the slack . I just don't know when the Twins are going to be scoring runs anytime soon. They should be doing that, but they're simply opting not to. Maybe they need the weather to get good too. Until then, I'm rolling with the team that's averaging more than 3 runs a game in the Tigers.
Texas Rangers @ Houston Astros(-1.5)

Ronel Blanco is a monster
While the walk rate is objectively bad, he does not put anything close to anyone's hot zones, allowing for a good defense behind him to just have to not mess it up. His extension makes 93 play more like 95-96 MPH on the heater and his consistent ability to avoid barrels and hard contact is astounding. Maybe the Rangers have a better game plan for round tow of facing him, but The Hean Dawg does not inspire confidence, as he has been touched up in both of his starts so far in 2024., including a 6 spot given up against the Astros but a week ago.
