The White Sox have had a bright spot on their team this season. His name is Erick Fedde. He's tossed 58 IP of 3.10 ERA, 4.01 FIP, 80.1% LOB Rate, and a 1.09 WHIP. With him being as good as he is, there is a scary flaw under the hood. He does not get guys to chase or whiff. He has a chase rate of 20.9% and Whiff Rate of 21.7%, good for 13th and 25th percentile respectively. That won't hang with the birds, which is why I'm betting against Fedde today. Baltimore is just too explosive to not take against a guy who doesn't avoid contact.

The Royals are on a heater and it's going to continue. Brady Singer is taking the bump and he is gong to get Tampa Bay to keep spiking the ball into the ground. The Rays are 5th in the MLB with a 44.5% groundball rate. Brady Singer induces a 51.6% groundball rate. Strength on weakness for the Royals pitching staff, and it's going to be strength on weakness for the Royals bats. Civale has been very bad in 2024, the worst year of his career.
The Royals are 11th in fWAR and are slashing .252/.313/.411 as a team. It's not too impressive, but the top of the lineup is raking. Bobby Witt Jr. is a superstar. He's slashing .305/.361/.557 and the timeless Salvador Perez is slashing .330/.396/.538. They're protecting the rest of the lineup and allowing guys like Michael Massey and Garret Hampton to get easier at bats. Their offense should continue to be dominant.

Classic good team bad team. The Guard Dawgs have been blooping teams to death and with the lack of pop in the Angels lineup, I think Bibee starts to look more like his 2024 form.
