This bird fight is between two of the biggest surprises we have so far in the 2025 MLB season. The Cardinals have been a pleasant one. They're in a comfortable 2nd place in the NL Central off of the strength of a great bullpen, great defense, and timely hitting. Nolan Arenado doesn't even have a wRC+ of 100 on the campaign but it has not mattered since Ivan Herrera, Brendan Donovan, Masyn Winn, and Lars Nootbar have picked up the slack.

Baltimore is the opposite. The pitching has been awful top to bottom. The hitting has been awful top to bottom as well with only Ryan O'Hearn and Gunnar Henderson batting anywhere near their potential. Just an awful season that will serve to reset expectations and hopefully their youth figures it out a bit.

All in all, the Cardinals come in winners in 7 of their last 10, including a sweep of the Snakes, while the Orioles exhausted everything to split with the Red Sox. Give me the Red Birds today for the memorial day best bet.
